Devin Queen is the Executive Sous Chef of Banquets
at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day banquet culinary operations for the property that features 331,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Devin most recently served as executive chef of one of the hotel’s signature restaurants, Il Mulino New York Trattoria, opening the restaurant in 2007. Previously, Devin was executive chef of Shula’s Steak House, also in the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin. During his time as executive chef, the restaurant was voted the Best High-End Steak House and Best Chain in Orlando. This honor was given in 2003, the same year Devin was recognized as a Shula’s MVP. Having overseen all aspects of kitchen production and staffing, he can boast much responsibility for these distinctions and many others, including the 2002 Critic’s Choice awards for Orlando’s Best Restaurant and Best Steak House during which he served as junior sous chef.
A 2000 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in New York, Devin holds the distinction of graduating first in his class. He also earned a bachelor of science in restaurant and food service management from the University of Central Florida. In addition, he holds a Certified Sommelier Certificate and a Serv Safe Certification.
